Duty to our parents/Doa buat kedua ibu bapa

In Islam it is obligatory for us to show kindness, respect, and obedience to our parents. To treat them politely ~ be gentle and devoted to them. We should not adopt rough and coarse attitude towards them, especially in their old age. We should not utter anything that might upset them.

"
Say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honour". - Quran Al Isrâ'(17) : 23"

Narrated by 'Abdullah:

I asked the Prophet (pbuh) "Which deed is the dearest to God?" He(pbuh) replied, "To offer the prayers at their early stated fixed times." I asked, "What is the next (in goodness)?" He(pbuh) replied, "
To be good and dutiful to your parents"...
(Bukhari)

Being dutiful to parents is one of the keys to enter Paradise

Abu Huraira reported Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) as saying:
"Let him be humbled into dust; let him be humbled into dust." It was said: God's Messenger, who is he? He(pbuh) said: "He who sees either of his parents during their old age or he sees both of them, but he does not enter Paradise (because he has been undutiful to them). (Muslim)

The Prophet (pbuh) was once asked by a companion: "O messenger of Allah! Are there any deeds that I could do to be of service to my prarents after they have passed away?"

The Prophet (pbuh), replied: "
Yes there are: you should supplicate for them and ask Allah to forgive them; you should carry out (fulfill) their promises; you should maintain good relations with your relatives ; and you should honour their friends."

(Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah and Ibn Hibban)

Strive to be a virtuous son/daughter. Love your parents, so that your life will be happy and blissful and you will be protected from the wrath of Allah SWT.

"
O Allah! Forgive me my sins, and the sins of my parents, have mercy on them boths as they have looked after me when I was little"

*******

Rasulullah SAW pernah bersabda :

Berdasarkan Hadith Nabi SAW :

'YA ALLAH YA TUHANKU, ampunkan lah dosa2 kedua orang tua ku, berkatilah kedua mereka itu, sihatkan lah mereka, murahkan lah rezeki mereka, panjangkan lah usia mereka, jauhilah sebarang bahaya, Dan lindungi lah mereka, Aminn yarabillialamin. ..."

Wassalam.
